Launch of UK microfluidics campaign
Burkert Fluid Control Systems, a provider of integrated valve and pump solutions, has created a dedicated UK team to exploit its pioneering developments of microfluidic applications
The rapid implementation of microfluidics across a range of sectors, including medical, water and industrial, according to Burkert's Werner Aebersold, requires technology that keeps pace with the market "Technology cannot afford to stand still and with the developments in miniaturisation, microfluidic components are key to growth in this dynamic sector", explained Aebersold

Ten years, 20,000 valves, zero failures
Over the past ten years Blease Medical has fitted more that 20,000 Burkert proportional flow valves in its range of operating theatre ventilators, without a single field failure
The UK Burkert microfluidics team is led by Aebersold and comprises Mike Rodd as GM of Burkert's UK operation, together with Neil Saunders, field sales; Andy Towers, internal sales; and David Selwyn, marketing.
The microfluidics range includes solenoid valves with isolating diaphragm, manifolds and dedicated micro pumps.
Components can be configured as customised solutions for a number of application fields, including medical diagnostics, life science, industrial equipment, water treatment, and pharmaceutical.
In the medical diagnostics and life science industries, for example, controlled and automated handling of ultra-small and aggressive fluids is in demand and - according to Burkert - miniaturisation of devices is a key driver for development of science-based industries.
"With our Microfluidic components we meet the demand for ultra-small valves, pumps and flow controllers which play a crucial part in new areas such as Genomics and Life Science", adds Aebersold. Request free introductory details about products from Burkert Fluid Control Systems ...
