Standards for light obscuration particle
counters
Count-Cal standards have been developed for manufacturers seeking interim verification to USP standards for particulate contamination in injectable and ophthalmic solutions.
The range of count precision standards available through Brookhaven Instruments now includes Count-Cal standards, designed for validating liquid particle counter performance They consist of single-use bottles of highly uniform latex microspheres in ultraclean aqueous medium at a concentration of 3000 particles per millilitre (+/-10%), ideal for most light obscuration particle counters

Also designed for this application, Pharm-Trol count precision standards consist of 15um polystyrene microspheres suspended at a concentration of 3800 particle per millilitres.
Prepared with the same exacting procedures used for the USP Count Reference Standard, they provide economical process control data for particle counting consistency and verification of size calibration as well as interim testing to USP 788 and 789 monographs.
The third range of Count Precision Standards is the Ezy-Cal range of ready-to-use standards.
Particle concentration is 2000 per millilitre and Nist traceable mean diameters again range from 2 to 70um.
Each 100ml bottle contains a magnetic stir bar for convenient direct sampling by the instrument.
An accurate and convenient method of calibrating and checking the performance of laser particle counters used in cleanrooms and other particle contamination monitoring applications is provided by the Particle Counter Size Standards range.
Supplied at various concentrations, they are available in 15ml bottles with uniform Nist-traceable mean diameters from 0.27um up to 100um.
