Bruker Daltonics has announced a new application note: Microorganism identification and classification based on Maldi-Tof mass spectrometry (MS) fingerprinting
Maldi-MS is a high throughput and reliable method for the classification and identification of microorganisms Applications are feasible in clinical diagnostics, environmental, and taxonomical research, or food processing in quality control
The robust method requires minimal sample preparation efforts and life cycle costs.
This process, when utilised in combination with dedicated analysis software, allows the unambiguous identification of bacteria, yeasts, and fungi.
