Provides a wealth of valuable information on the basics of allergy, allergy diagnosis/testing and cross-reactivity, plus a link to the complete allergy assay menu

A comprehensive guide to trends, testing and treatment in allergy management is now available on-line at Bayer HealthCare's website, providing a useful educational resource for laboratory professionals The allergy guide has been created by Bayer Diagnostics, a division of Bayer HealthCare, which is committed to helping clinicians accurately diagnose the growing population of people affected by allergies so that appropriate treatments can be initiated

This concept of disease-focused management is also reflected in the extensive range of automated allergy assays now available for Bayer's Advia Centaur immunoassay system.

This system was co-developed with the leading Danish allergy immunotherapy and in vitro test manufacturer, ALK-Abello.

The on-line guide provides a wealth of valuable information on the basics of allergy, allergy diagnosis/testing and cross-reactivity, plus a link to the complete allergy assay menu for the Advia Centaur which now encompasses 180 allergens, 21 mixes and an inhalant screen.

New assays for this high-throughput automated immunoassay system are constantly being developed, and it is hoped to have a menu of up to 300 allergens, screens and mixes by the time the development programme is complete.
