Carl Zeiss enhances image analysis software

A Carl Zeiss product story
Edited by the Laboratorytalk editorial team Sep 22, 2008

Axiovision 4.7 is the fast, intelligent microscope control and image evaluation software from Carl Zeiss for users in the fields of life sciences and materials microscopy.

Axiovision 4.7 can be used for capturing, archiving, processing, analysing, reconstructing and evaluating images in digital microscopy.

The software now includes a range of updates such as the Fast Mosaix module, which can scan large surfaces up to 10-times faster than current solutions.

The Dual Camera mode doubles image acquisition speed by allowing simultaneous image capture from two cameras.

The range of digital cameras can be expanded with HDR imaging, exposure time can be automatically updated with changing brightness levels, while Assaybuilder performs high content analysis in images captured with Axiovision.

The measurement, segmentation and further processing of 3D objects is enabled by the 3D measurement module.

Comparative diagrams are introduced to assess materials, while the Physiology module, in combination with Dual Camera, can be used to perform emission ratio imaging and fast Fret imaging (Fluorescence resonance energy transfer).

Axiovision 4.7 supports the Axio Examiner microscope and Definite Focus function in the LSM 710 and Axio Observer.

In addition, the software supports every component of the Stereo microscope series, including the Autofocus module.

Refinements in Axiovision 4.7 also help with reporting; a diagram view for data lists enables simple preparation of bar and pie charts as well as scatter plots.

Reports can also be exported into the Microsoft Word-compatible RTF format.
