Rental plan for CellMaker disposable bioreactors

A Cellexus Biosystems product story
Edited by the Laboratorytalk editorial team Feb 7, 2008

Renting of disposable items may not be as crazy as it sounds: a monthly payment plan enables customers to evaluate the technology without making risky purchasing decisions

Cellexus Biosystems, a specialist in the design, manufacture and commercialisation of novel disposable technology for growing cells, is to extend the offer for rental of its CellMaker Lite2 disposable fermentor .

Commenting on the rental plan, Ian Taylor, commercial director of Cellexus Biosystems, said: "We have seen significant demand for the product under the rental plan since it was initiated last September and customers like the concept.

"The rental plan with monthly payments is helpful for our customers' cashflow, but it also provides a low-risk entry mechanism for them to fully evaluate disposable technology for growing their particular cells, allowing customers to assess and approve the CellMaker technology before committing to a final purchase.

"Having operated the rental plan for a few months as a pilot scheme, we will now operate it for the rest of 2008 subject to the availability of stock units for rental".

This plan currently operates in North America and the EU.
