Sample tracking and inventory software

A ChemSW product story
Edited by the Laboratorytalk editorial team Nov 5, 2001

ChemSW introduces a new Oracle version of STIS sample tracking and inventory system, for the monitoring of samples and work throughout the laboratory

STIS sample tracking and inventory system is ideal for pharmaceutical and forensics lab applications.

With STIS, users can register samples, create work lists, assign tests, enter test results and check progress and status, all with complete audit trail and reporting.

Tests may be assigned to a single sample or to a batch of samples at once.

To meet GLP/GMP and 21 CFR Part 11 requirements, STIS enables the auditing and reporting of any changes to sample status, with the date and time and identity of the user who made the change.

"STIS pinpoints exactly where a sample is located and in what storage conditions, from the name of the facility right down to the specific position in a particular test tube rack," explains Brian Stafford, president of ChemSW.

"The system's multiple levels of nesting provide more detailed tracking options than the typical LIMS." The system includes a suite of functional reports, and customized reports are easily created.

The desktop version of STIS is already in use in hundreds of laboratories.

The new Oracle version is ideal for larger, client-server applications with multiple labs.
