Independent clinical research organisation Chiltern International has added to its integrated resourcing solutions department with the appointment of Angie Farrell as resourcing manager

The department provides specialist staff and personnel solutions for biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies for short, medium or long-term projects Farrell will be responsible for building the new scientific division and providing scientific laboratory staff to biotech and pharmaceutical companies

She began her career as a registered general nurse but soon realised that she was interested in the scientific industry and joined SRG where she worked as team leader for a number of years.

Her role at SRG as a member of its laboratory staff was the first one the company had given to a non-scientist.

Farrell didn't hesitate when the offer came to join Chiltern.

She commented: "I had heard very positive things about the company, especially the training schemes.

"I'm keen for the company to generate new business via business development and want to see Chiltern International's name publicised further in the global market.

I believe that we are one of the top ten companies to go to for clinical personnel.

I want Chiltern to be in the top five for clinical personnel and the top five for scientific personnel.".
