Clinical trial management by web

A ClinPhone product story
Edited by the Laboratorytalk editorial team May 2, 2005

Web-based clinical trial management system (CTMS) will be deployed by pharmaceutical, biotech and clinical research organisations for the tracking and reporting of regulatory and clinical information

ClinPhone will be launching its new web-based clinical trial management system (CTMS) - TrialWorks Web 2005 - at the 41st annual DIA meeting, 26-29 June 2005, in Washington DC.

In addition, technologies being demonstrated include Patient Direct (electronic patient reported outcomes), ClinPhone Connect for integrated electronic data capture systems (EDC) and clinical trial management software (CTMS), plus randomisation and medication management solutions.

TrialWorks Web 2005 is a globally scalable web-based CTMS that will be deployed by pharmaceutical, biotech and clinical research organisations for the day-to-day tracking and reporting of regulatory and clinical information.

The new web-based version will be offered alongside TrialWorks by ClinPhone v4.5 and ClinPhone's TrialWorks e-service, enabling ClinPhone to offer its customers what it calls a total clinical trial management solution.

ClinPhone will also be showcasing Patient Direct for real-time electronic patient reported outcomes data.

This 21 CFR part 11 compliant technology addresses concerns over limitations on data quality and integrity of paper diaries and questionnaires, by utilising interactive voice response (IVR) systems.

Patient Direct is simple and intuitive to use, offering unparalleled diary compliance, study site access to patient data, and simultaneous application in unlimited numbers of languages and countries.

Also being demonstrated is ClinPhone Connect for EDC and CTMS systems.

ClinPhone Connect offers customers a flexible interface between ClinPhone's real-time trial management systems and EDC and/or CTMS software.

This application creates an environment where critical randomisation and dispensing data is seamlessly shared between systems in real-time.

Unlike other integration solutions, ClinPhone Connect enables data to originate in either system and also offers protocol-specific integration touchpoints.

Other clinical trial solutions being demonstrated at the show include randomisation and medication management services.

ClinPhone provides automated logistics management and drug supply chain management for clinical trials.

The supply processes are controlled by a central computer accessed via telephone (IVR) and web (IWR) interfaces.

ClinPhone's 21 CFR Part 11 compliant medication management algorithms are the subject of continued research and development to optimise medication supply chain processes and provide the greatest medication savings and the most robust inventory control.

"ClinPhone looks forward to demonstrating its range of solutions at the 41st Annual DIA Meeting" comments Patrick Hughes, strategic business development and marketing director.

"We welcome the opportunity to showcase our services which offer the biopharmaceutical industry cost resource and efficiency savings through centralised clinical trial support.".
