This open vessel stirrer, high speed mixer hybrid can be used with open or closed vessels; in pressure or vacuum environments; glass or metal reactors ranging in size from 100ml to 70 litres
The glass shaft is offered in the same 0.500-inch diameter size as existing stainless steel Mag-Drive Mixer shafts and can be used with the off-the-shelf line of collet mount agitators already sold by the company.
Made from laboratory grade Pyrex glass, the shafts are available in two lengths, 8.25 inches or 12 inches, and can be special ordered in custom lengths.
"We are always looking for new ways to meet the needs of our customers," said Terry Delp, Chief Designer and President of Delp and Associates, LLC.
Mr Delp went on to say: "It came to our attention, during discussions with researchers, that the same processes that required a sealed vessel mixing environment often put material restrictions on the mixer components as well.
"In many cases, all the wetted items needed to be made from non-metallic materials.
"Since the bodies and agitators, or wetted items, of our Mag-Drive Mixers are already made from high performance thermoplastics, the decision to include the glass shaft was an easy one.
"The addition of the glass shaft means that we now offer a mixer and accessory line that is completely non-metallic and can be autoclaved for absolute cleanliness.".
