CEM and Synthematix agree to integrate Synthematix's suite of informatics tools with CEM's focused microwave synthesis line of instrumentation for the life sciences market

CEM has entered into a strategic alliance to co-develop a software platform based on Synthematix's Arthur suite of reaction planning tools and CEM's ChemDriver reaction monitoring software for CEM's line of systems designed for microwave-enhanced life science applications The company says the new software will be the first to truly provide the market with database, search engine, reaction design and instrument control capabilities in one package

It will function as an electronic institutional memory for the chemistries developed within an organisation over time.

The initial phase of the alliance will centre on incorporating technology from Synthematix's Arthur suite within CEM's reaction monitoring program to provide an integrated solution to enable chemists to quickly design and record completely new experiments, or to design around previous reactions found in the database, utilising the scalable templates provided.

The package features a powerful structure-based tool that draws on multiple databases, as well as the provided datasets with 5000 reaction procedures included within the initial release, scheduled for early 2004.

This improved informatics package is specially tailored to complement microwave technology.

It enables CEM to provide a new level of convenience and capability, and will help chemists to plan and perform a microwave reaction from a single workstation with a significantly increased chemistry development capability.
