Transfection reagent enables simple and efficient short interfering (si) RNA-mediated gene silencing in a wide variety of cell lines

New Transit-TKO transfection reagent, now available from Cambridge BioScience, enables simple and efficient short interfering (si) RNA-mediated gene silencing in a wide variety of cell lines Mirus's Transit-TKO transfection reagent is the only reagent specifically designed to deliver siRNA to cells in vitro

Combined with the correct siRNA sequence against the target mRNA, Transit-TKO reagent can inhibit endogenous, stable or transient gene expression.

This novel reagent enables highly efficient siRNA transfection with minimal levels of cellular damage as compared to cationic-liposome based transfection reagents.

Transit-TKO transfection reagent is highly effective, allowing the use of extremely low levels of siRNA to successfully knock out both transient and stable gene expression in a wide variety of mammalian cell lines.

Also, because transfections are most effective when carried out in complete growth media, the use of Transit-TKO eliminates the need for a media change or addition of serum.

Transit-TKO delivery technology will enable the use of siRNA to inhibit expression of endogenous cellular genes in order to study a wide variety of biological phenomena.

Gene function can be investigated by assessing the biological effects of siRNA-mediated knock out of expression of that particular gene.

These products are available from Cambridge BioScience in the UK and Ireland only.
