Qdots named as top ten scientific
breakthrough
Quantum dot bioimaging technology has been named as one of the top ten scientific breakthroughs of 2003 by Science Magazine
Quantum dot bioimaging technology has been named as one of the top ten scientific breakthroughs of 2003 by Science Magazine and was described as "the most exciting new technique to emerge from the collaboration of physicists and biologists" Several landmark studies have been performed using Quantum Dot's Qdot products in the last year
These fluorescent nanocrystals light up biological events in a range of sharp colours.
In neuronal imaging studies, Qdots have been used to track individual glycine recptors in living neuronal cells, revealing the workings of the human nervous system more clearly than ever before.
They have also been used for deep tissue imaging of the cardiovascular and lymphatic systems in living animals.
Qdot products are available in the UK and Ireland from Cambridge BioScience.
