Now available from Cambridge BioScience, Cytocell's comprehensive range of directly-labelled whole chromosome painting probes in Aquarius liquid format offer improved Fish analysis of human metaphase chromosomes Each probe consists of a library of DNA sequences derived from flow-sorted chromosomes

These stretch over the entire length of the chromosome, providing superior coverage of every human chromosome.

The probes are directly labelled using either a red or green fluorophore (Texas Red or FITC spectra respectively) and are provided ready-to-use in hybridisation solution.

They are supplied in an economical five-test format and come complete with Dapi counterstain.

The protocol is rapid and simple and follows a co-denaturation of the Fish probes and target DNA simultaneously.

Applications for whole chromosome painting probes include analysis of chromosome partners involved in translocations and identifying the chromosome of origin of marker chromosomes.

Confirmation of results obtained from M-fish and sky testing may be of particular interest in the study of mutagenesis of human chromosomes as a result of exposure to genotoxic agents.
