Coherent designed the Vioflame series to provide cost effective solutions to customers in both high power and low power versions.
The Vioflame series offers drive electronics choices such as constant current, constant power, and a special second photodiode that is closed loop providing the ultimate in power stability and low RMS noise.
Each Vioflame system is a complete 408nm, thermo-electrically cooled (TEC) diode laser system with superior Class 3 electro-static discharge (ESD) protection.
The TEC integrated package significantly enhances the stability of the laser output power, the beam diameter and pointing.
The superior levels of ESD protection, obtained by multi-layer shielding construction, provide the best durability in the industry.
"We used the latest InGaN semiconductor laser technology to create the Vioflame series," said Daniel Callen, product manager for laser diode modules.
"The Vioflame includes state-of-the-art mechanical system construction and unprecedented drive electronics with protection, to achieve output power at higher performance and longer lifetimes than previously available," added Callen.
"Then we packaged the system into the convenient HeNe-style housing to make set-up and installation easy with a wide availability of mounts and configurations." All models offer excellent noise characteristics.
Depending on the application, you can choose either a low-cost constant current, or the EP version equipped with a second photodiode closed-loop system to further enhance stability.
To ensure durability and a long lifetime, Vioflame lasers are constructed using a large thermo-electric cooler with bi-polar linear drives, an internal cooling fan with anti-vibration mounting, a back panel on-off switch with power LED indicator, and Coherent's patented AlignLock technology.
Also available is an optional CDRH compliance box that connects to the side port of the Vioflame, adding such features as a five-second power-on delay, key switch, laser emission indicator and remote interlock.
