Coherent extends tuning range of Legend
amplifier
Coherent has expanded the wavelength tuning range of its Legend tunable ultrafast amplifier into the blue and ultraviolet spectral regions
Specifically, the company has introduced two new standalone modules: a second harmonic (SHG) module that provides frequency-doubled output from 375nm to 450nm; and a third harmonic (THG) module that delivers frequency-tripled output from 250nm to 300nm These modules, when combined with the tunable fundamental output of the Legend (750 nm to 900 nm), can perform many cost-effective, wavelength-sensitive ultrafast applications without the use of an optical parametric amplifier

Legend amplifiers for performance and flexibility
Designed for ultrafast photochemistry, ultrafast spectroscopy and OPA pumping, Legend amplifiers offer high performance coupled with flexibility in wavelength, pulse width, energy and repetition rate
Legend is the new product name of the high-energy, Ti:Sapphire regenerative amplifiers first pioneered by Positive Light over ten years ago.
When pumped by a Coherent Evolution laser, these unique Legend amplifiers provide femtosecond and/or picosecond pulses with pulse energies up to 2.5mJ, repetition rates up to 5kHz, and unmatched pulse-to-pulse stability.
The addition of the SHG and THG modules makes the Legend an ideal source of tunable, high-energy ultrafast pulses for applications such as pump-probe experiments to study molecular dynamics, photochemistry, photo-electron generation at optimized wavelengths, fluorescence upconversion, and research into non-linear optics.
