Evolution laser wins photonics industry
award
Evolution-Tem00 laser from Coherent has been recognized as one of the industry's outstanding new products by Photonics Tech Briefs magazine
Specifically, this high power laser has received a 2003 Readers' Choice Product of the Year Award as announced in the April 2004 issue of the magazine The Photonics Tech Briefs Readers' Choice Product of the Year Awards are given annually to products from across the entire spectrum of photonic technologies

Ten finalists are selected by the magazine's editors from products released during the previous year.
This list is posted in the January issue, and three winners are then selected by an on-line poll of the magazine's readers.
Coherent's director of marketing Marco Arrigoni states that, "Coherent has a tradition of developing innovative products specifically optimized to meet the needs of particular applications.
"This process is largely driven by feedback from the customer base.
"Thus, it is especially gratifying to receive this award because it is a validation of our efforts by the marketplace itself".
The Evolution-TEM00 laser is a member of the Evolution family of Q-switched Nd:YLF lasers that utilise efficient intra-cavity doubling to deliver high-energy pulses at a wavelength of 527nm.
The main advantage of the Evolution-TEM00 laser is its near-diffraction limited beam profile that enables focusing to micron spot sizes.
The laser delivers high energy per pulse (10mJ at 1kHz) and high average power (15W at 5kHz).
Applications include marking, cutting, machining, and laser induced breakdown spectroscopy (Libs).
