Cole-Parmer launches digital microphotography kits

Cole-Parmer has introduced hand-held digital microscope kits for microphotography applications in lab and industry.

Typical applications include working with hair samples, printing inks, forensic analysis, repair of small circuit boards in electrical and electronic workshops and research with biological media in laboratories.

Each digital microscope kit includes a six-LED-illuminated USB microscope, software for capture of images or videos (measurement function included) and an adjustable stand.

Users can select from a 10-200-times-magnification digital microscope, 500-times-magnification digital microscope, digital UV microscope or digital polarising microscopes for use with reflective surfaces.

The user can take the microscope to the sample and get high-resolution magnified image or video of the sample or a specific area within it.

The USB microscope should be connected to a PC or a laptop to store these images or videos for further processing or analysis.

For versions that have from 10x to 200x magnification range, the magnification automatically adjusts depending on the distance from the object.

A high-resolution image is captured by plugging the USB microscope into the PC or laptop port and pressing the stutter trigger.

The active pixel technology produces sharp images and accurate colour reproduction.

All models feature a 1/4in CMOS sensor for image capture.

Software provided along with the USB digital microscope allows the user to tweak settings such as brightness and contrast controls, measurement functions, digital zoom, and date and time record.

All models are powered by USB cord supplied with the handheld microscope.
