Hydrogen detector immune to other
flammables
Unlike sensors based on conventional pellistor technology, this device is immune to most hydrocarbons and other flammable compounds, ensuring precise measurement of hydrogen alone
With a new detector from Crowcon, atmospheric levels of highly flammable hydrogen can be precisely monitored in locations such as laboratories, refineries, battery rooms and fuel cell facilities Tracking concentrations as high as 50% of the lower explosive limit (LEL), the latest addition to the company's TXgard-IS+ range is an intrinsically safe unit for use as part of a permanently installed monitoring system

Like other models in the TXgard-IS+ range, the new hydrogen detector includes its own display panel so that personnel in the vicinity can check gas levels at the point of detection without having to return to the main control panel.
In addition, simple pushbutton controls allow the unit to be calibrated by one person - an important consideration where detectors are installed in confined spaces.
A current ramp test facility means that alarm functions can be checked without having to use test gas.
TXgard-IS+ detectors are loop-powered for use in standard 4-20mA detector loops.
Two-wire installation means that they can directly replace existing detector heads without the expense of extra cabling or modification of control cards at the main control panel.
In addition, where three-wire devices require the use of two Zener barriers to achieve intrinsic safety, only one barrier is needed for the TXgard-IS+.
A built-in thermal compensation feature removes the possibility of zero drift in environments where the ambient temperature fluctuates widely.
The detector junction box is manufactured from durable GRP and sealed to IP66, while for very dusty or wet conditions, the sensor itself can be protected to IP66 with an optional cover. Request a free brochure from Crowcon Detection Instruments ...
