C2V emerges from management buy-out of
Alcatel
Company name C2V, or Concept to Volume, reflects dedication to providing high added value efficiency-enhancement software and design services and seamless micro-engineering to the small tech industry
C2V emerged as the result of a management buy-out of Alcatel Optronics Netherlands in July 2002 C2V unites a unique combination of competencies and pedigree based on the skill-set of the world's first software and design services company in integrated-optics, BBV Software (originally established in 1992); and micro-engineering based on the first ISO 9001 certified micro system product supplier, TMP (first established 1995)

C2V offers software products for the design and simulation of planar optics and Mems technologies, and OEM seamless microsystems engineering (SME), from design to production.
Development, prototyping and pilot production are in-house activities.
Beginning with a concept, via development and prototyping, SME also includes transfer from low to high volume production of microsystems (3inch to 6inch substrates).
C2V strategically collaborates with mass-production foundries within the Europractice community, such as SensoNor and CSEM.
This enables C2V to pursue technology-independent and application-optimized solutions for its customers.
Within the MEMS/MST industry, TMP was among the first to establish strategic alliances based on complimentary competencies.
In the same vein, C2V also has access to the latest R+D in Micro System Technology, due to strong ties with the Mesa Research Institute, a center of multidisciplinary knowledge and technological expertise.
The C2V planar design team will be dedicated to research and development programs for Alcatel Optronics for a period of 18 months.
Its longstanding relationship with Alcatel regarding optical components is hereby extended to the mutual benefit of both parties.
C2V announces the release of Odin, the revolutionary mask editor for micro systems, and Olympios, a software platform for simulation and mask layout in integrated optics.
Odin is a fully parametric mask editor dedicated to the Mems design process.
An extensive library of elements includes many standard elements from straight and curved comb drives, to a variety of springs, and Microtas elements.
The import and export of various, relevant mask formats is also possible.
Olympios is said to be the most powerful planar waveguide design tool available and offers an open interface, unmatched flexibility, reliability, and remarkable reduction in design time, together with excellent support from highly qualified staff.
