ICS-900 starter ion chromatograph replaces ICS-90

A Dionex product story
Edited by the Laboratorytalk editorial team May 13, 2008

The new ICS-900 ion chromatography system is a compact, reliable system designed for ease of use and high performance with low operating costs

The system uses the same proven materials and technologies found in all Dionex ion chromatography systems, assuring fast startup times, stable performance, and trouble-free operation.

The ICS-900 system replaces the ICS-90 system as the starter-line ion chromatograph, and joins the ICS family that includes the ICS-1000, -1500, -2000, and -3000 systems.

The system's dual-piston, serial pump with Peek flowpath provides stable flow rates from 0.1 to 5ml/min at pressures up to 5000psi, allowing isocratic separations using 2-, 3-, and 4mm anion- and cation-exchange columns.

An MMS 300 membrane suppressor and heated conductivity cell assure sensitive, stable, noise-free results.

The displacement chemical regeneration (DCR) mode of the MMS uses the conductivity cell effluent to displace the regenerant, delivering regenerant to the suppressor at the same flow rate as the eluent.

Precise flow control assures a drift-free baseline, and the low regenerant flow rate maintained using the DCR mode reduces waste and cost.

Regenerant flow starts and stops when eluent flow does, and because regenerant and eluent are consumed at the same rate, regenerant and eluent bottles can be changed at the same time, leading to fewer interruptions to operation.

The same ICS-900 system pump controls both eluent and regenerant flow; an additional regenerant pump is not required.

Chromeleon SE chromatography management software is included for system control, data collection and analysis, IQ/OQ/PQ system validation, and on-line diagnostics.
