Motorised lenses come with a control unit which allows the user to vary the zoom as well as the speed and direction at which zooming occurs.

Edmund Optics announces the addition of motorised versions of its VZM 300, VZM 450 and VZM 1000 video zoom microscope lenses.

These motorised lenses come complete with encased DC gear-motor with rubber O-ring belt drive and bracket, CE analogue/RS-232 control unit, 3m motor/controller cable, basic LabView operation interface software disk (Windows 98, 2000, or XP compatible), RS-232 cable, and CE universal power supply (110V and 220V operation) with removable US standard IEC power cord.

The control unit allows the user to vary the zoom as well as the speed and direction at which zooming occurs.
