Concentrate organisms from large volumes
of water
ElutraSep hollow fibre modules offer the ability to drastically shorten or eliminate enrichment for detection, reducing costs and labour associated with grab-sample tests
ElutraSep hollow fibre modules are designed to concentrate organisms from large volumes of water Once concentrated, microbes are eluted for detection

Module concentrates microbes
This new technology utilises hollow fibre modules that are designed to filter and concentrate microorganisms for detection
Additionally, ElutraSep modules can also be used to capture and concentrate organisms from realtime sample sources.
This continuous flow provides a realistic composite sample and can be used to reduce costs and labour associated with grab-sample tests.
Application example:.
ElutraSep CT44M filtration capacity 25 litres (tap water).
Peristaltic sampler pump set to sample directly from the process and feed 416 milliliters per minute to the module.
Disconnect Elutrasep module and elute organisms.
Eluted buffer solution now contains a microbial composite sample of 25 litres over one hour.
Microbes trapped within the 0.2 micron (pore size) hollow fibres can be eluted with recoveries as high as 95%.
Sample up to six sources at once with a multi-head peristaltic pump.
Sample from a continuous flow and reduce grab samples.
Circumvent enrichment by concentration.
Sample larger volumes and reduce false negative tests.
