Elliot introduces multimode mid-infrared fibre

An Elliot Scientific product story
Edited by the Laboratorytalk editorial team Feb 4, 2010

Elliot Scientific is offering a small-core high-power multimode mid-infrared (IR) fibre from IRphotonics for use in medical, industrial and research-and-development applications.

The H100 dual-clad mid-IR fibre offers a spectral transmission from 0.3um to 4.5um with low attenuation and no spectral absorption peak.

Its 100um core enables high-power handling over a small bend radius from a range of lasers, such as Er:Yag lasers (2.94um), semiconductor lasers (QCL), solid-state lasers or tuneable MWIR lasers (OPO).

The new fibre is said to be suitable for range of applications not previously possible with energy delivery in the medium-wavelength IR.

The H100 mid-IR fibre is available now to customers in the UK and Ireland through Elliot Scientific and is supplied bare or as a patch cord with high-power connectors.
