Ergonomics award for piston-stroke
pipettes

Germany's top testing house, TUV Rheinland, has awarded Eppendorf's Research range of piston-stroke pipettes its approval for being ergonomic, user-friendly and user-tested

The TUV award relates to precisely the points that Eppendorf defined in the eight criteria of its PhysioCare Concept, thus confirming the success of this approach to optimising pipetting systems Eppendorf is the first company in the world to receive a TUV award for manual pipettes

All the pipettes in the Research range (fixed, variable, single-channel, and multi-channel) were included in the award.

As an independent company, TUV offers every manufacturer the opportunity to have its products tested for ergonomics and user-friendliness.

The following parameters were tested in the TUV trial.

Setting volume.

Pipetting (attaching the pipette tip, drawing up liquid, dispensing liquid and ejecting the tip).

Adjustments.

Care and sterilisation.

Maintenance.

Application of force required.

Intuitive operation.
