Workstation automatically changes tools
Able to precisely control the positioning of the dispensing tools to within a fraction of a millimeter, thus optimising the reliability and reproducibility of experiments
The new member of the epMotion family can automatically recognise and exchange tools, thereby making it possible to dispense liquid volumes ranging from 1 to 1000ul The gripper can be used to transport plates and parts of the vacuum station, thus guaranteeing entire processes without manual intervention, says Eppendorf

The unique optical sensor recognises the type of dispensing tool, the filling levels, the labware, the tip type and the number of tips.
With this technology, the workstation is able to precisely control the positioning of the dispensing tools to within a fraction of a millimeter, thus optimising the reliability and reproducibility of the experiments being carried out.
Instead of the usual computer, a compact control panel is used to control the system, which reduces the space requirement to a minimum.
Combined with the intuitive and simple software, operation of the epMotion is quick and easy to learn.
It is possible to integrate one of the new Mastercycler EP gradient 96 or 384 devices into the workstation.
This transforms the workstation into the epMotion 5075 Mastercycler (MC), making it capable of carrying out sample preparation and PCR completely automatically.
The epMotion 5075 with integrated vacuum station (Vac) was developed for nucleic acid purification in the 96-well format.
The use of the Perfectprep 96 plasmid kits on the epMotion 5075 workstation provides highly pure plasmid DNA in the shortest period of time.
A complete 96-well plate can be processed in 60 minutes without manual intervention.
Validated applications such as the purification of BAC DNA and the cleanup of PCR products are also at your disposal.
The modular system concept of the epMotion family also offers flexible expansion possibilities for intelligently enlarging the spectrum of usage. Request a free brochure from Eppendorf UK ...
