Key resource for redox biochemistry
CD Handbook of Redox Biochemistry provides a 500-page reference on the use of electrochemical approaches in the study of pro-oxidant production, macromolecular damage and antioxidant protection
ESA has announced a new CD updating and considerably expanding the scope of its popular handbook on oxidative metabolism.
The searchable CD-Rom takes just a few minutes to install on any PC running Windows 98 or higher and is available free of charge from ESA.
The CD Handbook of Redox Biochemistry provides readers with a 500-page reference source showing the use of electrochemical approaches in the study of pro-oxidant production, macromolecular damage and antioxidant protection.
The new handbook leads the reader through an introduction to the topic, the chemistry of reactive species, damage and repair of the body's defensive mechanisms, how their effects can be prevented, and the consequences when the body's natural defenses fail.
Where appropriate HPLC-electrochemical detection based methods and references to published literature are given describing analytical methodology relevant to measuring the effect of reactive species.
A wide-ranging bibliography of articles is included which details the many diseases associated with pro-oxidant production, which include rheumatoid arthritis, athersclerosis, inflammation, cardiovascular disease, cancer, and reperfusion injury.
