Low volume cell enhances MS and LC/MS studies

An ESA Biosciences product story

Electrochemical cell utilises porous graphite flow-through design and is optimised for incorporation into an MS, MS/MS or LC-MS system as a reactor cell to enhance ionisation of analytes

ESA Biosciences has announced a new low volume cell designed for applications requiring high electrochemical conversion at lower flow rates, such as assisted ionisation with mass spectrometry.

Controlled by the Coulochem III electrochemical system, the model 5030 cell utilises the proven porous graphite flow through design pioneered by ESA and is optimised for incorporation into an MS, MS/MS or LC-MS system as a reactor cell to enhance ionisation of analytes or to provide data relative to the drug development process.

The cell's solid-state design is virtually maintenance free so that special filling solutions and periodic cleaning are not required.

When combined with an MS system, the model 5030 cell has been shown to enhance the sensitivity and applicability of mass spectrometers by providing enhanced ionisation and increased signal from difficult to ionise molecules for MS analysis, including aryl amines, phenols, estradiols and other oxidisable structures.

With its low volume (1ul), high efficiency and low noise, the 5030 cell can also be used as an analytical cell for many low flow or microbore applications.
