CINF Scholarship for Scientific Excellence is designed to reward outstanding research of young scientists and to foster their contribution to chemical information

CINF, the division of chemical information of the American Chemical Society (ACS) and the German chemistry information centre Fiz Chemie Berlin are inviting young scientists to apply for the CINF-Fiz Scholarship for Scientific Excellence.

The scholarship programme of CINF, funded by Fiz Chemie Berlin, is designed to reward graduate and postdoctoral students in chemical information and related sciences for scientific excellence and to foster their involvement in CINF.

Three scholarships valued at US$1000 each will be given out at the 234th ACS National Meeting in Boston, Massachusetts, USA, August 19-23, 2007.

Deadline for applications is 2 April 2007 Applicants have to be enrolled at a certified college or university.

They have to present a poster during the Sci-Mix session at the National Meeting.

The contents shall reflect upon the young researchers work and describe research in the field of chemoinformatics and related sciences.

Abstracts for the posters have to be submitted electronically through ACS's Online Abstract Submittal System Oasys (sector Sci-Mix).

At the same time Guenter Grethe, chair of the selection committee, has to be informed about the application for the CINF scholarship through e-mail.

Additionally, a 2000-word abstract describing the work to be presented has to be sent in electronic form to Guenter Grethe by 15 June 2007.

Any questions related to applying for one of the scholarships should also be directed to the chair.

Winners will be chosen based on contents, presentation and relevance of the poster and they will be announced at the meeting.

Winning posters will be marked 'Winner of the CINF-fiz Chemie Berlin Academic Scientific Excellence' at the poster session.
