Vibratory mill for fine grinding of dry samples
Vibratory micro mill achieves size reduction through the combination of impact and friction for fine grinding of dry lab samples or solids in suspension within a narrow particle size range
The Pulverisette 0 vibratory micro mill is useful for fine grinding of dry lab samples or solids in suspension within a narrow, homogeneous particle size range, says Fritsch.
For homogenisation of emulsions or pastes.
Convertible as vibratory sieve shaker for dry- or wet-sieving Typical fields of application include analytical chemistry, X-ray- and spectrum analysis, electron microscopy, IR-spectrophotometry, nuclear research, trace analysis, mineralogy and microbiology.
The Pulverisette 0 achieves size reduction through the combination of impact and friction.
An electromagnetically powered mortar generates vibration.
These vibrations are transferred to the grinding balls via the grinding material.
The impact energy of the grinding ball can be controlled to suit the application.
The grinding mortar and balls are offered in six different materials to avoid troublesome contamination as a result of abrasion during the grinding process.
The grinding set can be placed in a cryo-box to grind soft, oily, fatty, resinous or damp materials.
By adding liquid nitrogen the material to ground can be embrittled.
This method is employed to reduce samples which are very difficult to grind (eg sliver of soft PVC) to analytical fineness.
The thick insulation of the cryo-box results in low coolant costs.
Features of performance.
Selective milling.
Reduction of size of coarse particles by impact at the beginning of grinding process.
Further size reduction of ground material through friction due to tumbling motion of grinding balls.
Size reduction in a narrow, homogeneous range of grain sizes.
Agglomeration phenomena avoided.
Window to observe the grinding process.
Adjustable vibration amplitude so vibration energy can be adapted to suit sample being ground.
Loss-free grinding in closed vessel guaranteed, even in suspension.
Modular system permits simple conversion to dry- or wet-sieving.
