Lead-free - a wake up call for UK
manufacturing

The levels of lead in new products will have to be reduced to almost zero by new EU legislation coming into force in August 2004

Lead has been of concern for many years Now, the EU is clamping down on the amount of lead in manufactured products and it's happening fast

The levels of lead in new products, it is intended, will be reduced to almost zero by the new legislation.

Many companies have already felt the impact of the changes and others soon will as from 13 August 2004.

Responsibility will pass to the manufacturer for collection and disposal of the products they produce.

Fischer Instrumentation have developed the Fischer XRF pin diode spectrometer which can measure with good accuracy, contamination in the 0.02-0.05% range.
