Auto-titrator makes determinations
easier
Now available from Gerhardt UK, the TL Easy is described as an accurate, self-contained programmable titration unit suitable for pH and redox titrations
Available from Gerhardt UK, the TL Easy is an accurate, self-contained programmable titration unit which is suitable for pH and redox titrations Sugars and salt determinations are two of the most commonly performed analysis in food laboratories, yet they often give cause for the most concern This is because in many laboratories these determinations are performed using traditional methods such as flame photometers or manual titration using a colourmetric end point

For salt determinations, using a flame photometer, requires different and uncontained apparatus leading to the emission of gases and exhausts.
This in turn requires the need for fume cupboards which can be cumbersome and inconvenient.
When using manual colourmetric end point for either sugars or salts, samples that are coloured or that have artificial colouring added, will often mask or obscure the indicator making it difficult for the operator to find the exact end point which results in unreliable data.

With the introduction of the TitroLine-Easy (TL Easy) automatic titrator, these problems can be eliminated.
Available from Gerhardt UK the TL Easy is an accurate, self-contained programmable titration unit which is suitable for pH and redox titrations, for both sugars and salts the redox mode is used.
It has its own magnetic stirrer powered from the main units hot shoe, so no additional power socket is required.
TL Easy has ten pre-selectable programs, five for both pH and redox, and is controlled by just five multi-function buttons.
Once the initial program has been selected, operation is via a one-button start sequence, releasing operators to concentrate on other tasks.
For sugars and salts the unit operates with milli-volt endpoint, so there is no need for a visual indicator.
This minimises the possibility of errors associated with traditional indicators which mask or blur the end point due to the samples colouration, so accurate and reproducible analysis is assured.
The burette has an auto refill function when empty so the operator does not need to manually fill a glass burette and re-zero the meniscus when empty.
Should the unit refill mid-titration the mis already used are held on the display.
Once full, the titration continues on from the point of interruption.
The TL Easy is PC compatible via a RS232C interface, so allowing results to be downloaded if required.
