The new Vapodest 45 from Gerhardt UK automates the entire distillation process, with all functions continuously monitored by microprocessor, for under £10,000

Automating kjeldahl distillations and titration applications is an important objective for many progressive laboratories who appreciate the significant time and space-saving benefits of the latest, multi-function instruments However, this is not always possible as typically the cost of the ideal combination of instruments and associated software, is prohibitive for many laboratories

To meet this need Gerhardt UK has introduced the Vapodest 45 TL, a combination of a Vapodest steam distillation unit linked to a titrator which provides a cost-effective combined kjeldahl distillation and auto-titrator system for under £10,000.

This new combined unit will suit laboratories which need to operate on more modest budgets that have a large sample throughput and require a high degree of automation.

Based upon the Vapodest 40, the new Vapodest 45 automates the entire distillation process with all functions continuously monitored by microprocessor.

The multi-functional display with 32 characters shows all program steps, as well as any errors alphanumerically.

Sample residues are emptied automatically into an optional waste tank and up to 10 programs can be stored and recalled making it ideal for laboratories handling a wide variety of sample throughput.

Once the distillation process has been completed a signal is sent from the Vapodest to the system's external titrator, the TL easy from Schott, via an RS 232 connector.

Once activated, the external titration unit completes the titration stage.

On completion of titration the TL easy signals to the Vapodest that the suction ample function can be activated (as long as it has been programmed in) and the sample tube is then emptied to waste either into the optional waste container or via existing waste disposal facilities.

The TL easy displays the mls of acids used in the titration process.

Also, if required, the TL easy can be programmed to calculate the result as long as the sample weight is always constant.
