Centrifugal evaporator gives faster runs
Higher performance version of popular evaporator used in drug discovery applications offers higher speed, shorter condenser defrost, and more powerful software
Genevac has announced the launch of a new, higher performance version of its popular HT-4 centrifugal evaporator for drug discovery applications Improved speed of evaporation, shorter condenser defrost time, more powerful software (including auto-stop when dry and remote control functions) and the flexibility to accommodate a wide range of sample formats are key benefits of the new HT-4X

Speed lyophilisation by up to 300%
Process combines high performance centrifugal evaporation technology with sample lyophilisation to deliver a major advance in preparing heat sensitive samples from aqueous solution
The HT-4X has a redesigned chamber, which together with extra powerful IR lamps, dramatically increases the speed of evaporation, even for high boiling point solvents.
In addition, better chamber cooling between runs is particularly useful to protect thermally-sensitive samples when run immediately after higher boiling point solvents.
To improve high-throughput capability the waste solvent condenser chamber volume on the HT-4X has been raised and the condenser power increased by 50%.
These modifications enable better overall solvent recovery, shorter run times, and have reduced condenser defrost times by a third.
Together these factors ensure maximum performance throughout the run.
The HT-4X retains all the popular aspects of the HT-4 series such as SampleGuard and Dri-Pure to protect samples from overheating and bumping and the high-g direct rotor drive.
Genevac managing director Harry Cole commented: "The HT-4 has proved to be a popular solvent evaporator in drug discovery labs around the world.
With this new package of improvements, I believe the HT-4X will become the evaporator of choice for high-throughput drug discovery, parallel synthesis and drug screening laboratories where sample purity and speed are important.".
