Evolving systems for solvent drying

A Genevac product story
Edited by the Laboratorytalk editorial team Sep 6, 2005

International Biotech and Lab Automation Europe 2005 will see launch of an enhanced centrifugal evaporator and the first UK appearance of centrifugal concentrators for biological applications

Genevac has chosen the forthcoming International Biotech and Lab Automation Europe (Ibla) 2005 meeting for the global launch of what it describes as a new and greatly enhanced version of its EZ-2 centrifugal evaporator.

The company claims that, since its launch in 2003, the EZ-2 has established itself worldwide as the benchtop evaporator of choice for busy laboratories.

The new generation EZ-2 system further extends performance, operational versatility, and ease of use.

This meeting will also mark the first UK appearance of Genevac's Mivac range of affordable centrifugal concentrators for biological applications.

Benchmarked to provide best-of-class performance in all aspects the Mivac range allow scientists working with DNA, RNA, peptides, oligonucleotides and proteins to safely and swiftly concentrate or dry their samples.

The new range of concentrators feature capacity from six to twelve stacked shallow-well microplates or 64 to 200 micro centrifuge tubes of 1.5ml size.

Special methods for drying aqueous and alcohol-based samples are included in all the Mivac models.

The Mivac Speed Trap - a new unique design of refrigerated solvent condenser for vacuum concentrators - will also be on show.

The Speed Trap has been designed to considerably improve the performance of any vacuum concentration system by condensing vapours back to liquid, helping to pull a vacuum and speeding up the concentration process considerably.

Ibla is one of Europe's leading exhibitions and conferences for the biotech and robotic industries.

The event will take place at London Olympia on 15-16 November 2005.
