Genevac introduces biological sample concentrator

A Genevac product story
Edited by the Laboratorytalk editorial team Dec 1, 2008

Genevac's Mivac Duo biological sample concentrator can quickly remove a range of solvents.

It features a high displacement pump and quietly removes water up to 40 per cent faster than similar concentrators.

The Mivac Duo can be used with a range of solvents, including volatile organic solvents, water and some of the higher boiling-point solvents.

The Mivac Duo is a centrifugal concentrator that can be used with a variety of sample formats, including tubes, microplates, vials and round-bottom flasks.

It incorporates a four-swing position rotor and can simultaneously accommodate up to 20 shallow-well microplates or eight deep-well plates, making it ideal for busy labs.

Adding the Mivac Speedtrap refrigerated condenser enhances solvent removal.

The Mivac pressure controller can be added to any Mivac system and controls the running pressure in the system.

A vacuum ramping mode is included so that concentration can be started gently and can prevent bumping or spitting.

An automatic mode controls the vacuum profile, which is useful for users uncertain of which pressure to use.

The Mivac Duo is suitable for applications including oligo synthesis, RNA/DNA preparation, peptide preparation, sequencing, molecular biology and ADME/toxicology research.
