Easy Engine software enables true remote
control
GRI releases Easy Engine software from Geno-tronics, allowing users of MJ research PTC-200 or PTC225 DNA Engines to remotely control units from a PC
With this unique software, users can design, create and edit protocols for their instruments from a remote station Easy Engine also monitors block temperature and performance providing a visual display of real time data

The introduction of Easy Engine provides another useful tool for users of MJ Research thermal cyclers.
GRI's LabCare division provides a solution for laboratories that require the ability to remotely control their MJ Research Thermal Cyclers (PTC-200 and PTC-225).
Easy Engine software provides a bi-directional interface from which networks of thermal cyclers can be programmed and controlled from a single PC.

Easy Engine provides flexibility in creating and editing programs, on line monitoring, data logging and analysis.
Hard copying of data provides run traceability, which is recommended by ISO, GMP, GLP and other quality programs.
The design and editing of programs is executed from the PC and visualised immediately in graphic form.
Copy, cut and paste are performed as per Windows standard.
Easy Engine has the ability to exchange programs from the cycler to the PC allowing data to be stored on the cycler, the PC or even the local network.
Up to 32 thermal cyclers can be connected with control and programming of up to eight blocks simultaneously from a single PC with the Easy Engine software.
Running of programs can be monitored with data visualised on actual temperature, estimated running time and device status.
During a run, data is automatically logged with relevant temperature and status stored for future analysis.
To ensure security of data and programs, three different levels of operator are available; administrator, controller, and user, eg a controller can create and edit programs but has no access to the system configuration.
A service option is also available with Easy Engine.
GRI LabCare can provide an access code, which will enable Easy Engine to run a performance test on a selected unit.
This test logs relevant data to a specified file, which GRI LabCare can analyse, and report on the status of the unit in question.
Easy Engine provides significant benefits to users of MJ Research DNA Engines and Tetrads who require the ability to control multiple machines from a single source.
The additional features of data logging, visualisation and service output will enable end users to further interrogate data from their units and therefore the results they attain.
