Genetix has announced that its QBot or QPix2 colony pickers can be used in conjunction with Templiphi, a novel isothermal DNA amplification method developed by Amersham Biosciences, for swift, efficient sequence identity The fast, accurate and reproducible Genetix colony pickers combined with the capability of the Templiphi to prepare DNA of sequencing template quality directly from bacterial cells carrying plasmids results in reduced labour and consumable costs, saves valuable lab space and decreases the time taken from colony growth to sequence identity
