Arraying into standard microplate wells

The production of identical DNA and protein arrays in the wells of microplates allows the parallel processing of many different test samples against the same array

Genetix has announced that the QArray2 and QArrayMax microarrayers can be supplied with an alternative bed to allow the printing of arrays in the wells of standard format microplates The production of identical DNA and protein arrays in the wells of microplates is of considerable interest as each resultant microplate will allow the parallel processing of many different test samples against the same array

The QArray2 microarrayer can be supplied with a bed that will hold 16 destination microplates, whilst the QArrayMax can be supplied with a bed for up to 80 destination microplates.

Hybrid beds are also available that can hold a combination of destination plates and microscope slides.

Arrays can be printed into round-well or square-well microplates that are amenable to coatings that will bind DNA/proteins.

Operating in a completely enclosed, humidity controlled environment the QArrayMax system has the capacity to spot onto 450 standard glass microscope slides or into 80 microplates using a patented 48 pin high-precision low-friction (HPLF) head.

This capacity allows large batches of slides and plates to be processed in a single run, eliminating the batch-to-batch variation that can be an issue on smaller capacity systems.

The QArray2 is a high-throughput stand-alone system with the capacity to array from 70 source microplates onto 90 slides or 16 destination microplates and includes automated lid removal and replacement for source plates to maintain sample stability.

The combination of 1um resolution on all linear servo drive axes and high-precision flat bed design ensure accurate printing and reproducible spot location. Request a free brochure from Genetix ...
