Cell transformation in less than one
minute

Range of competent cells, developed to provide the fastest, single-step transformation process available, enable the entire protocol from transformation to plating to take approximately one minute

Genetix has introduced the Ecos range of competent cells, developed to provide the fastest, single-step transformation process available It says that, using the cells, the entire protocol takes approximately one minute from transformation to plating from either a single tube or, for higher volume users, a 96-well plate

During this rapid process, no loss of efficiency will occur, thus ensuring integrity is maintained.

By comparison traditional transformation protocols are much more labour intensive and typically take in excess of 60 minutes to complete.

Stringently checked to ensure highest quality the current range, which includes DH5a, JM109, BL21 and XL-1 blue equivalent cell lines, gives guaranteed efficiencies of up to 109 transformants/ug plasmid.

Ready to use in just minutes from a -70C freezer, Ecos competent cells remove the worry of strain contamination and competency that may result from the lengthy sample preparation required by traditional cells, says Genetix.

Ecos competent cells are said to be ideal for large scale, time critical projects and automated transformations. Request a free brochure from Genetix ...
