Assay results using this system are said to be more reproducible, with less operator-to-operator variability in results, and with rapid data acquisition to save researchers significant amounts of time

Available from Guava Technologies, the ViaCount Flex assay reagent enables accurate counting and discrimination of viable and non-viable cells for a variety of difficult cell samples including non-mammalian cells, low density cell samples, and cell lines that stain heterogeneously Results from ViaCount Flex assays show good correspondence and linear correlation to the trypan blue hemacytometer cell counting method, over a broad range of cell densities and culture conditions, but also offers some additional significant benefits says Guava

Assay results using ViaCount Flex are more reproducible, and there is significantly less operator-to-operator variability in results compared to manual counting methods, it says.

In addition the Guava ViaCount Flex assay is easy to perform, with rapid data acquisition on the Guava PCA, PCA-96 or EasyCyte systems, saving researchers significant amounts of time.

Developed to meet the special needs of researchers working with non-mammalian cell lines, ViaCount Flex works well with insect cells that are increasingly widely used in vaccine research and commercial vaccine production.

ViaCount Flex also provides accurate, reproducible assessments for samples too dilute (eg 104 cells/ml) to be counted with standard hemacytometers.

For cell lines that stain heterogeneously, ViaCount Flex facilitates gate settings using the Guava PCA by providing tight staining patterns making it is possible to properly stain difficult cell lines enabling optimal viability assessment and cell counting.

The Guava ViaCount Flex assay is just one of a growing number of assays available for the Guava PCA systems.

Each of these assays includes a dedicated software module, which contributes to the system's overall ease-of-use for multiple assays.

Guava PCA systems are flexible, highly affordable and ultra-compact, requiring only a few microlitres of sample volume, thus saving precious and expensive cells, reagents and compounds.

Their ability to produce precise and accurate read-outs right at the benchtop gives researchers comprehensive test results fast, streamlining the entire R and D and drug discovery process.
