Microlab Star a hit at AstraZeneca R+D
Charnwood
The use of the flexible and modular Hamilton Microlab Star enables AstraZeneca to use one instrument for diverse applications ranging from compound dilution to assay construction
AstraZeneca requires automation of multiple applications across different processes Working closely with AstraZeneca, Hamilton has designed a system that has greater capacity and functionality than AstraZeneca's previous machines, enabling them to carry out very accurate dilutions
The Microlab Star's innovative and unique features like dual liquid level detection, monitored air displacement and the Co-Re technology have increased the process safety remarkably at AstraZeneca, says Hamilton.
The Hamilton software has been incorporated into the in-house sample management system, which has enabled full sample/data tracking and an increase in the speed of sample processing.
The Microlab Star system shows a decrease in assay variability and an increase in throughput and accuracy.
As a result the Microlab Star has become the benchmark instrument within HtL at AstraZeneca R+D Charnwood.
