Updated universal devices for measuring force, displacement, pressure and other mechanical quantities using strain gauges or inductive transducers in a single housing

HBM has launched two new versions - Spider8-01/55 and the Spider8-01/30 - of its Spider8 universal digital multi-channel measuring system The latest versions complement the existing Spider8 with four 4.8 kHz carrier frequency amplifiers and Spider8-30 which includes four 600 kHz carrier frequency amplifiers

The Spider8 is a universal device for measuring force, displacement, pressure and other mechanical quantities using strain gauges or inductive transducers in a single housing.

Depending on the configuration, the Spider8 can measure temperatures using thermocouples or PT 100 or DC voltages and DC currents.

Options include up to 16 digital I/Os and a trigger input.

The equipment does not have any switches, potentiometers or jumpers and the Spider8 can be connected to a PC via the printer port or a USB adapter on the USB port.

Each channel has a supply for passive transducers, amplifiers, filters and analogue to digital (A/D) converters.

All A/D converters work synchronously and supply up to 9600 values/s at a resolution of 16 bits per channel.

The equipment is ready to use and is competitively priced compared with alternative measuring systems.

HBM offers special price packages for purchasers of the Spider8 when bought in conjunction HBM's Catman software.
