The alliance will be launched at the industry convention Pittcon 2005 in Orlando, USA, and underlines Heraeus's commitment to the manufacturers, distributors and users of analytical instrumentation, the company says.
Together with Cathodeon in the UK, which also belongs to the Heraeus Noblelight group, customers of all three companies will benefit from a wider choice of products that they can now obtain with all the support of their preferred partner.
The product range includes 'best-in-class' light sources such as Heraeus's FiberLight as the smallest deuterium light source in the world, a new D2K long-life deuterium lamp from IST, and Cathodeon's growing range of xenon flash lamps.

In the area of deuterium lamps which are the most widely used light source for analytics, the new alliance offers tailor-made solutions for all requirements from efficient standard lamps to ultra-stable long-life light sources.
Furthermore, the group manufactures hollow cathode lamps, VUV lamps, tungsten halogen lamps, line sources, calibration lamps, power supplies and other products.
Heraeus's strategy is to integrate the three companies into one group that leads the market in quality and responsiveness to customer needs.
The headquarters of the Heraeus Noblelight analytical lamp division are in Hanau, Germany.
