Ventilator fits in the palm of hand
The new MiniVent ventilator from Harvard Apparatus is ideal for mice, but may also be used for peri-natal rats
The respiration rate is adjustable from 60 to 400 strokes per minute and the tidal volume is adjustable from 30 to 350microlitres Using this ventilator, the compliance is reduced to just three microliters
This palm-sized compact ventilator takes up little space, and is quiet and light weight.
The unique design removes almost all dead space.
The MiniVent is a constant-volume respiration pump with a rotary plunger; there are no valves to clog.
