Harvard Apparatus offers the Mini LipoPrep which, it says, is well suited for the preparation of small volumes of liposomes (0.5ml to 1.0ml)

with Liposomes With few exception liposomes are composed of natural or syntheitic phospolipids, mostly lecithins

Because of their restricted permeability, liposomal preparations offer a controllable, time dependant release system.

Liposomes offer the best compromise between permeability and in vivo stability for a given agent.

Harvard Apparatus offers the Mini LipoPrep which, it says, is well suited for the preparation of small volumes of liposomes (0.5ml to 1.0ml).

The LipoPrep consists of a chamber, which is used with a membrane, and a motor to rotate the sample chamber at a constant speed.

Liposomes are formed during dialysis of the detergent in the lipid/detergent micelles through the membrane.

Mini LipoPrep can prepare unilamellar homogeneous liposomes in about two to three hours.

A larger unit is available for larger volumes.
