Harvard Apparatus says its F-series isometric force transducers approach the ideal for measurement of force in small contractile tissues

The standard Model F30 features excellent resolution of +/-2mg over a useful force range of +/-30g (+/-0.3N) The Model F10 has a lower force range of +/-10g (+/-0.1N) and ultra-high resolution of +/-0.5mg, making it suitable for detecting the minute force changes commonly found in small tissue preparations

The F30 and F10 are based on the magneto-resistive field plate principle.

The field plates are electronically connected to form a Wheatstone Bridge so that the F30/F10 can be used with virtually any standard transducer amplifier.

As a consequence of this construction, both models display low vertical displacement of the load element for true isometric measurements.

In addition, the inherently low seismic activity of the F-Series design minimises the influence of incidental environmental vibrations, resulting in impressively stable baseline performance.

Robust construction and flexible design ensure reliability over a wide range of applications.
