Medidata and Icon reach two-year
milestone
Medidata Solutions, a provider of electronic clinical data capture (EDC), management and reporting, and Icon, provider of outsourced development, have reached a two-year milestone in their partnership
Since February 2005, the companies have worked together to deliver Medidata's Rave EDC platform to biopharmaceutical companies around the globe and to date, Icon and Medidata have been awarded contracts from 19 companies for 37 clinical trials across phases I-IV, in a range of therapeutic areas Icon, an early adopter of EDC technology, was Medidata's first Aspire to Win partner

This programme, which is based on a non-exclusive application service provider (ASP) partnership and business model, has enabled Icon to meet sponsor demand for Medidata Rave.
Icon has been able to offer the platform in-house by building and deploying studies with Rave certified resources, while the program has also allowed Medidata to implement Rave with a range of sponsors looking to streamline global clinical trials.
