Last month the ICR hosted 'Feasibility versus Accountability - Current challenges in monitoring non-commercial trials' in Bristol This event included presentations from the MHRA and MRC and helped participants to tackle some of the key issues faced by NHS Trusts and universities when conducting clinical research studies

December's schedule includes the ICR Trainer's Forum meeting on 'Are you fit for purpose? - developing the trainer', held at ICR's head office in Marlow, UK.

The diary remains busy with a range of forums, training sessions, courses, seminars and professional conferences leading up to the spring conference and exhibition including ICR's involvement in the Manchester Medicines Network meeting on Improving NHS clinical trials, a conference on collaboration, taking place from 29-30 January.

February's events include a Project Management Forum in Marlow, a Yorkshire Forum in Leeds, the ACDM/ICR Joint Conference in Northampton (26-27) and concluding with the 5th Annual ICR/NHS R+D Forum joint conference either London on 28th February.

John Hooper, chief executive of ICR, explained: "We are committed to driving up the standards of clinical research and to supporting our members at every stage of their career from trainee to senior professional.

"Our events are proving to be very popular with the highlight being our spring conference".

This year, the annual conference promises to be bigger than ever with a keynote introductory speech from Edward Gabriele on the integrity of clinical research and concluding with David Thomas, a renowned motivational speaker on improving memory for personal and business effectiveness.

The programme includes 27 sessions including presentations on Phase 1 trials: learning from TGN1412 and the popular Pocket Guides series, this year covering Romania, Poland, India, Latin America and Africa.
