Clarifying and quantifying the cost of change

An IDEC Electronics product story
Edited by the Laboratorytalk editorial team Nov 29, 2006

The cost of changing from one PLC/HMI manufacturer to another can prove daunting when the price of new software, connection cables, manuals and learning time is taken into account

Idec says it make this task as simple as possible with low cost entry software and programming kits comprising of the just the software, cable and manual.

The WindLDR PLC ladder software is easy to understand and the user will find it requires the minimum of learning time before becoming proficient.

Similarly, the WindO/I HMI screen software employs simple pick and place operations meaning screen information can be created in a short time.

Idec does not charge for software upgrades either, unlike other manufacturers, When an upgrade becomes available this can be downloaded free of charge from the Idec website with no limit to the number of times this can be done.

So, when users are considering changing to the MIcroSmart/Pentra PLC range they can be assured that their changeover costs are as low as possible if they take the Idec route.
